My Story

Adam Miller – Born and Raised in Keokuk, Now Catching Fish and Photos in Des Moines

Well, hello there! My name is Adam Miller, and I’m a proud Keokuk native, avid fisherman, freelance photographer, and writer extraordinaire currently residing in Des Moines. Plus, I’m outnumbered by girl power – I have a beautiful wife of 15 years, 5 beautiful daughters, and even 3 dogs who are girls too. With such a full house, it’s no wonder I spend most of my time outdoors fishing or taking photos.

I first discovered my love for fishing as a young boy in Keokuk. My dad would take me out on the river, and soon enough, I was hook, line, and sinker. Today, I still love fishing just as much. I’m happiest when I’m out on the water with a line cast and a drink in hand (yes, I’m a fan of a cold brew or two while fishing).

As for my love for photography and writing: in a world that can sometimes be too serious, I’m all about capturing those little moments of joy and lightness. My cameras and laptop go everywhere with me, and I love nothing more than finding and capturing the beauty in the world – whether it’s a stunning sunset, a charming small town, or a delightful candid moment between family or friends.

Now, I know what you might be thinking – fishing, photography, and writing? Those don’t really have much in common. But for me, they’re all about finding and capturing moments of beauty and connection. Whether I’m hauling in a big one on the river or capturing a perfect snapshot in a family session, there’s nothing quite like that feeling of satisfaction when you know you’ve captured something special.

So, dear visitor, welcome to my website, my little corner of the internet where I share my love for fishing, photography, and writing. I hope you’ll find something here that inspires you or makes you laugh. And who knows, maybe we’ll even run into each other out on the water or at a local café. Until then, happy fishing and snapping!
