The jarring ride is not only dangerous but also emotionally draining, especially considering the solemn purpose of the place one is headed to.
The road leading to the cemetery should be a sign of respect, but instead, it’s a sign of neglect. It’s insulting to think that the final resting place of so many brave soldiers is only accessible through such a treacherous path. It’s a shame that the city has allowed things to get so out of control.
It’s not just South 18th Street that’s been left to decay in Keokuk.
